It was during the reign of Queen Maria Theresa that the family moved from Lower Austria (Nieder-Österreich) to the city of Zombor, in the county of Bácska (South Hungary at that time), which she had raised to the status of free royal city. Then in the first third of the 19th century the family relocated to Szeged.
